Cornerstone Lodge #19 on the Grand Lodge of Alberta.  This web site will be a guide to the events that we have in our Lodge in High River, Alberta, Canada.  We have designed it for all people to gain a knowledge of our Lodge, Town and the Community of High River. Our Links to other pages can be found by following the emblem... [Company Logo Image]

"Cornerstone. Symbol of beginning; Cornerstones are laid in the North-NorthEast  corner - Entered Apprentices stand in the NorthEast Corner of the Lodge.  The point mid-way between the darkness of the North and the brilliance of the East was chosen by ancient builders as the point of the beginning, a spot to mark a birth, a commencement of a new structure. Who stands in the darkness has no light; on whom falls the whole light of the brilliant East and its rising sun is not in Darkness.  Half way between, then, is a symbol of a beginning - the traveler has left the darkness and moved towards the light. Those who build have left the "darkness" in which is no building, and progressed far enough towards "light" to lay a foundation stone...."

Our Lodge has a large membership and is very active.  We always have a full Masonic Calendar  of Degree Work for our new Brethren. The Lodge has an active schedule for our Research  and Education. This is a always a nice part of the our Lodge as a lot of Brethren present papers, but more especially interesting are the Lectures from Brother's Toon and Abbott who are currently the Research and Education Officers in the Highwood District

We are the home of 1765 Degree Team which performs a Degree from 1765 of which the proceeds go to Charity. Our travel's with the 1765 Degree team have taken us as far as Tacoma - Washington, Vancouver - British Columbia, and Edmonton - Alberta.  This is an excellent way for other Mason's to see a Historic Degree and meet the Brethren of Cornerstone Lodge.  Any Brethren interested in seeing this performance or booking us for a performance at a Lodge, can follow the link to the 1765 Degree page and complete our form and we shall contact you as soon as possible with the details.

Brethren, just wanted to congratulate you on the fine performance put on last night by the Cornerstone Players; the Degree was truly a delight for all that were there to witness.

This goes to prove just how much there is a need for Education that is entertaining and interesting at every meeting if at all possible to keep the members and visitors engaged and coming back for more!...You are an example for all of us to follow.

I sincerely hope that Cornerstone Lodge continues to set a standard for good Masonry that is appealing for young and old and dares to be different without compromising Masonic principles to increase attendance at Lodge meetings whether it is a regular business meeting or Conferring a Degree.

I tip my hat to you all!
